The concept of Rescue Critters!® brand mannikins came from realizing that there was a lack of training mannikins to teach people pet first aid skills. Rescue Critters, LLC is a California based company. Craig Jones is the President of Rescue Critters! and the man behind the idea. By putting Craig’s expertise in medicine, the special effects skills of others, and by asking lots of questions of the veterinary educational community, Rescue Critters! brand mannikins became a reality in 1998. Early on Craig noticed that not only was there a lack of mannikins for pet first aid, but also an absence of training devices and mannikins for veterinary education. The company then branched off into more advanced veterinary mannikins such as K9 “Critical Care Jerry” and the cat mannikin, “Critical Care Fluffy”. Craig Jones stated;

“Our goal as a company is to Refine, Reduce, and Replace animals in veterinary instruction and educational training.”

In early 2002 a new product was launched, “Lucky”, a life-sized horse to train search and rescue techniques. In 2004 two more new products became available. The IM & SubQ Injection Pad and the Suture Patch. In 2005 we premiered the K9 Breathsound / Heartsound simulator and Hoof Trainer. in 2006 we released our new "Emily" K-9 Positioning Mannikin, "Rufus" K-9 bandaging and First Aid Mannikin, K-9 Demo Cart and "Lucky" the Horse Training Stand. Craig and Rescue Critters! staff are always looking for new ways to serve the community with their innovative products.

Craig has an educational background as a licensed Psychiatric Technician in the State of California, an EMT and is currently certified in Workplace Health & Safety from the California State University of Northridge. Also, Craig is an Emergency Response Instructor Trainer and has taught many Police, Firefighters, SAR groups, and the general public life saving skills. He also spent many years in the entertainment industry.

In just a short period of time, Rescue Critters! brand mannikins are used throughout the United States and sales continue to grow all over the world. Rescue Critters! brand mannikins are in such countries as Japan, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Sarajevo, Israel, Germany, Italy, Bosnia, Chile, China, and Malaysia to name only a few.

With an ever expanding need for veterinary education, public needs, military, police, fire departments, and SAR groups for quality training equipment, Rescue Critters! brand mannikins will grow with new sciences and fill the need for high quality animal training mannikins. Rescue Critters! has the support of the veterinary community, government, animal educators, humane organizations, search and rescue and the public.
