FEMALE K9 URINARY CATHETER

Set Up & Instructions

The K-9 U Cath set up and preparation is very simple.

1) Remove all items from the case.

2) Place K-9 U Cath on solid surface.

3) Remove black cap from reservoir and fill with tap water (optional: add two drops of yellow food color to represent urine)

4) Remove the catheter provided and apply a generous amount of KY Jelly® to catheter.

5) Place by palpation or scope method.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Once you have finished using the K-9 U Cath, clean up should be just as simple. We recommend that the clean up procedure be done over a sink or basin and that it be performed after each use or at the end of the day.

1) Uncap reservoir and drain all fluid.

2) Allow for unit to remain uncapped and air dry.

3) When cleaning the K-9 U Cath fur it's important to remember:

a) Always be gentle especially when working out tough stains.

b) The more often the fur is washed the quicker it will deteriorate.

c) A light brushing after washings will help cut down on fur matting.

Troubleshooting

If you're having trouble with your K-9 U Cath, here are some areas to double check:

1) Make sure the fluid reservoir (representing the bladder) is at least filled 2/3 full.

2) Make sure placement is correct in the urethral orifice.

3) Make sure that you are using the catheter provided as other catheters may not be the appropriate size.

4) Make sure that KY Jelly® is liberally applied to the catheter as well as to your gloved finger.

Your K-9 Urinary Catheter mannikin should give you many years of service. In the event your unit fails as a result of workmanship, your unit comes with a limited warranty.
